B-17 Leader places you in command of the mighty 8th Air Force flying missions against Germany during World War II. You must manage not only your mission options, but also make strategic level decisions to figure out the best way to crush Germany’s war-making capabilities. Each of your bomber and fighter groups have their own skills. Selecting the right groups for a mission is vital to its success. As you fly missions, your groups will gain experience and suffer losses from enemy fighters and flak guns. With experience, their skills improve, but as their losses mount, their skills decrease and they might not be able to fly for several missions. Each campaign provides you with the historically accurate aircraft, as well as the Allied and Axis technologies available at that point in the war. Early on, you must fly missions deep into Germany without fighter escort all the way to the target. Later, you will have long-range fighter escorts, but you will also be facing advanced enemy aircraft like the deadly Me-262 jet fighter!
